The best mexican food in the area

First of all here's the menu since I couldn't find it easily online.As you can see, it's huge which can be good or bad. I wish that with such a huge menu they had more vegetarian entrees. So I went a la carte instead. I loved the chimichanga but the quesodilla wasn't amazing. The guacamole was SO boring. The fried ice cream was the best.The prices were okay but the service was terrible. It wasn't a huge issue because we weren't in a rush but beyond how slow it was no one was particularly friendly. Another poster mentioned flies and while they didn't ruin the experience they were a presence. I would rather go to Rosati's next door.

Not the greatest place or food. Good and cheap margaritas, though! It's fine for the Ottowa area, but you have much better options the closer you get into the Chicago area.

The food here is ok. Steak and chicken is the way to go here I personally lean tords the chicken. There beef isnt good at all

We come here once or twice a month because we like it. I have heard some not so good things about this place, but I always rather form an opinion for myself. We haven't had to much in complaints. There is one waiter we love more than the rest, and I should've gotten his name for you but I have forgetten too. His attentiveness is spot on. He always remembers us and brings the large frozen beer mugs of very cold Ice Tea for me. The food is deliscious and we love the salsa and chips they bring to the table before your food. When we get the other waiters the service can be iffy.

Great little place. I stopped in with my kids after deciding to try someplace new and was surprised at the fullness of the menu. Prices are inline with the area. Service was good, but not great. Food was top notch. We will go again sometime. I had the burrito grande with steak. My son had a steak burrito and daughter the kids burrito. All were very good.

Nothing crazy but everything but the meat seemed fresh and good quality. The meat on the other hand tasted like they got it from a can. There was a ton of sauce with my enchiladas which I love but the gritty dry meat made them taste like Wal-Mart's frozen food. Not sure if I will go back

Fajitas were great. I can't say anything bad about them at all. I would definitely recommend one of the fajita plates if you come here.Combination platter was good flavor, but kind of disappointing in the amount served. Chile relleno isn't battered. That's kind of a regional thing I think, but I really prefer battered. Enchiladas were really small.Fried ice cream was kind of chewy to the point that it was distracting. I wouldn't order it again. Service was excellent. We came in late at night, but still received good service. That's a sign of a place that appreciates your business.

Good place to eat. I would pass on the guacamole, it was mashed avocado and lime juice. Was very bland and flavorless. Fajitas were very good! We ordered the double steak and took half home for later. Not all peppers and onions, had a good amount of steak and they were well seasoned. Have had other menu items that were just ok. Staff was friendly and prices were reasonable.

BUSY Place! Had to sit at table by door. To cold with the door opening and closing. They brought my Husband his meal and then told me they were out of chalutas (pork chops.) I had to order something else. When I got mine he was already done eating. I took a few bites and ask for container to take mine home. We had to wait to pay. It was cold by the door waiting to do that.

Good food huge margaritas and decent atmosphere

When I travel i love to sample local Mexican food so this place was on my must stop at to eat. I arrived and there was a small crowd but no wait to eat. There are small booths on the side that seat four and tables in the middle for larger parties. The chips and salsa are a bit on the bland side, but perfectly suited for young kids. I ordered chicken with rice and beans, it came out super quick. The food was very tasty and fresh. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite in the Ottawa area

Great carnitas, the best salsa - if you ask for the good stuff, and an extensive tequila selection. Want to try a $399 bottle? $25 a shot. This made my happy-place list.
